  1. We currently do have a great Sci Fi anthology series in Black Mirror. It’s the modern day Twilight Zone. Each episode is a different story with different actors and characters. A lot of it is currently streaming on Netflix.

    1. I couldn’t get passed the first episode. It was too stomach turning for me.

      1. Thats the great thing about Black Mirror. Just move to the second episode. They are not linked in any way. And yes, I agree, the first episode was not good.

      2. I could see that. Personally I put the first episode as one of the series best. The tonal difficulties in that type of story are delicate to balance and it handled it beautifully. It’s satirical design didn’t hinder its bite. It’s a hard watch for sure, but that’s what makes it great for me. They could have easily pulled their punches but they didn’t. Most shows wouldn’t dare approach complicated material like that or treat it with more of a crass approach. I like how they didn’t hide the tragedy of it all.

  2. I don’t see an anthology show working for Star Trek. What is the best thing about the show? The characters. Now if you are changing that up each week you are going to lose that and make it harder to build relationships among them. And it usually takes a season
or two for a Star Trek series to get really good. Now I wouldn’t mind cutting back to 12 episodes a season. That could be good. I don’t agree on changing characters each season though.

    1. That’s more the route I’d rather see it go but either could work given certain groundwork. The TV show should have a end game built in though and not run on forever like the others seemed to do. I do agree that characters do grow better amongst more seasons but you never know. Depends a lot on writing. I wouldn’t want to see each week different I just said each season could be. But again I’d truly love to see it return to TV evolved from where it started.
